Ottumwa Water & Hydro

The Ottumwa Water and Hydro utility is completely autonomous from the City of Ottumwa municipal government. It has an independent, five member, non-elected board of directors. This information is provided as a community service.


 NOTE TO OUR CUSTOMERS – Construction of a floodwall around the Ottumwa Water and Hydro water treatment plant is underway.  During construction there will no public access to the business office at the Water Works. The business office is going to be temporarily relocated to 505 Gateway Drive (former Grooms Construction building), in addition to a night payment drop box. Temporary office hours will be 8:15 am to 4:15 pm Monday to Friday excluding holidays.  Customers may continue to pay bills at either North or South Hy-Vee stores. Ottumwa Water & Hydro appreciates cooperation from the public during construction.

The Water Works Board of Trustees consists of five members, appointed by the Mayor of the City of Ottumwa, each serving for a term of six years. The Board of Trustees set policy and determine the course of the overall management of Ottumwa's Water Works.
