Airport Facilities Technician

Deadline Date: May 1, 2024

The City of Ottumwa is looking for our next Airport Facilities Technician. This is a part-time position averaging approximately 20 hours per week.

The Facilities Technician is one of the first points of contact with our guests coming in and out of the Ottumwa Regional Airport, so customer service is key! The Facilities Technician helps with the upkeep of terminals, hangars and airport grounds, along with fueling planes as they purchase fuel. They make sure terminals are litter-free, clean, safe and organized. The techncian also maintains aircraft hangars so planes can be parked or stored over night or for longer periods of time. During inclement weather, the technician helps maintain walkways and steps so passengers have a safe route to and from aircraft and they also help de-ice aircraft.

Education / Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license

Salary starts at $15.91per hour.

Aquatics Facility Manager

The City of Ottumwa is looking for an Aquatic Facilities Manager for the Beach Ottumwa! This is an expanded position and will be the full-time manager for the Beach.

Salary Range - $58,614 - $76,190 depending upon qualifications

The Aquatic Facilities Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of The Beach Ottumwa, program offerings and supervising all aquatics (Lifeguards, Admissions, Concessions) and maintenance of the facility. Assists and acts in the absence of employees, when needed.

Supervises the Beach Ottumwa during a variety of hours including evenings and weekends. The Aquatics Facility Manager demonstrates an important level of customer service for all guests and sets an example for all employees while maintaining high safety standards at a rescue-ready level.

Seasonal Code Enforcement Inspector

The City of Ottumwa is seeking a Seasonal Code Enforcement Inspector to work full-time for up to 40 hours weekly.  This is seasonal work beginning in April/May for 4 to 6 months.  Compensation is $14.00 per hour. Valid driver’s license with good driving record and drug test required. Reports to Building and Code Enforcement Department Director.  Will work with Building and Code Enforcement Department Inspectors performing nuisance type inspections such as identifying unmowed yards and junk vehicles, notifying owners and occupants of necessary corrective action.  Duties may include taking and printing digital photos of nuisances, preparing notifications and other paperwork required for files, answering phones and taking messages. Must be comfortable interacting with people and be able to use Microsoft Office Word & Excel.
