Pocahontas Street.  The deadline for bids is 2PM on April 25, 2017.   The property consists of one lot with a placarded house on Ottumwa’s south side.   This house is unfit for habitation and cannot be occupied until repaired.  This property must be repaired to at least the minimum standards of the City’s building codes.      For more information download the bid packet for 413 N. 2102 E. Main Street – Bid Deadline Extended   The City of Ottumwa is accepting bids for the house and property at 2102 E. Main Street. The deadline for bids is 2PM on April 11, 2017. The property consists of one lot with a structure that was formerly used as a duplex. The structure is presently placarded as unfit for habitation and cannot be occupied until numerous deficiencies are repaired to at least the minimum standards of the City’s building codes. 128 S. Milner Street    The City of Ottumwa is accepting bids for the house and property at 128 S. 211-215 N. Green Street    The City of Ottumwa is accepting bids for the house and property at 211-215 N. Green Street.    The deadline for bids is 2PM on March  28, 2017.     The property consists of two lots with a placarded house.   The structure is presently placarded as unfit for habitation and cannot be occupied until numerous deficiencies are corrected.  This property must be repaired to at least the minimum standards of the City’s building codes.      For more information download the bid packet 211-215 N. Offers to purchase must be submitted on a completed purchase offer form along with a deposit. Purchase of City owned property is subject to a public hearing and formal approval by the City Council. Completed the purchase offer forms can be sent or delivered to: Ottumwa City Clerk’s Office, 105 E. Third St. Ottumwa, IA 52501. The minimum price for each lot shall be $500 per lot, except that the minimum per lot price shall be $250 to owners of adjacent properties. If the City has owned the lot for more than 5 years, the minimum lot price shall be $250 to the general public and $125 for an adjacent property owner. If more than one adjacent property owner wants to purchase the lot, sealed bids will be accepted. The City Council may consider modifying the minimum price. A development agreement with the buyer may be required when the City Council approves a modification of the minimum price.
