NOTICE TO BIDDERS

The City of Ottumwa, Iowa is seeking proposals from qualified firms/providers of consultant services to perform a new Comprehensive Plan. The City of Ottumwa will accept proposals from firms interested in providing the requested services. Proposals must be received no later than 4:30 P.M. on Tuesday January 16, 2018. If there are questions regarding this request for proposals, please contact Kevin C. Flanagan, City Planner, in writing at flanagank@ci.ottumwa.ia.us. Answers will be provided by email and will be accessible to all interested parties. The City retains the right to amend this request for proposals at any time.

The City of Ottumwa is receiving sealed bids for the rental of approximately 200 acres of hay ground at the Ottumwa Regional Airport.

Bid Documents may be obtained from the Airport supervisor at the Ottumwa Regional Airport Office located at the Airport Terminal Building at 14802 Terminal St.  Information may be obtained by calling 641-683-0619. All bids must be filed with the City Clerk on or before 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at City Clerk, 105 E. 3rd St., Ottumwa, IA 52501 and plainly marked:

The City of Ottumwa is accepting bids for the house and property at 1707 W. Fifth St. The structure is placarded as unfit for habitation and must be repaired to at least the minimum standards of the City’s building codes before anyone can move in. See our list of City Owned Vacant Lots for Potential Development. Some are vacant lots, some are lots with houses. Offers to purchase must be submitted on a completed purchase offer form along with a deposit. Purchase of City owned property is subject to a public hearing and formal approval by the City Council. Completed the purchase offer forms can be sent or delivered to: Ottumwa City Clerk’s Office, 105 E. Third St. Ottumwa, IA 52501. The minimum price for each lot shall be $500 per lot, except that the minimum per lot price shall be $250 to owners of adjacent properties. If the City has owned the lot for more than 5 years, the minimum lot price shall be $250 to the general public and $125 for an adjacent property owner. If more than one adjacent property owner wants to purchase the lot, sealed bids will be accepted. The City Council may consider modifying the minimum price. A development agreement with the buyer may be required when the City Council approves a modification of the minimum price.
